Question: Why is the issue of sustainability important for development? 

Sustainable economic development means that development should take place without damaging the environment and exploitation of resources and development in the present should not compromise with the needs of future generation. The issue of sustainability is important for development because of the following reasons (a) The growth and development should be done by keeping in mind future usage.(b) If resources are not sustained, then our natural resources will stagnate after some time and no upcoming generation will be able to take advantage of these natural resources.
