Question: The sun causes changes to things on earth. think of an object you have observed before and after it was left out in the sun. describe how it changed.
The sun is a powerful source of energy that affects many things on Earth. One of the effects of the sun is that it can change the appearance, texture, or structure of objects that are exposed to its rays for a long time. In this blog post, I will share an example of an object that I have observed before and after it was left out in the sun, and explain how it changed.
The object that I chose is a plastic toy car that my nephew used to play with. He left it outside in the backyard one summer, and forgot about it for several weeks. When I found it, I noticed that it looked very different from how it was before. Here are some of the changes that I observed:
- The color of the car faded. The original color was bright red, but after being in the sun, it became pale and dull. This is because the sun's ultraviolet rays can break down the pigments in the plastic and make them lose their intensity.
- The surface of the car became brittle and cracked. The plastic material was not designed to withstand high temperatures and direct sunlight, so it became weak and fragile. Some parts of the car even broke off when I touched them.
- The shape of the car warped. The plastic melted and deformed under the heat of the sun, making the car look distorted and uneven. The wheels were no longer round, the windows were no longer flat, and the body was no longer straight.
These changes show how the sun can alter the physical properties of objects that are exposed to its radiation. The plastic toy car was not able to resist or adapt to the sun's influence, so it became damaged and unusable. This is a lesson for us to be careful about what we leave outside in the sun, and to protect ourselves from its harmful effects.
