Question: Describe the structure and functioning of nephrons?
Nephrons are the functional unit of kidney. nephrons produce urine by removing waste and excess material from the blood. They form urine by filtration, reabsorption , secretion. Nephrons are composed of renal corpuscles and renal tubules. The parts of nephrons are glomerulus , Bowman's capsule, proximal convoluted tubules, loop of Henle, distal convoluted tubules, collecting duct. Each part has significant and distinct function of urine formation.
