Question: Difference between himalayan rivers and peninsular rivers?
Himalayan Rivers:-
Himalayan rivers are large-scale rivers originating in the Himalayas and running through some of the world's longest and largest river basins. These rivers usually carry a large amount of silt, due to the erosive nature of the mountains. Himalayan rivers are of two types, namely, the snow-fed, and the monsoon-fed.
Peninsular Rivers:-
Peninsular rivers are rivers that flow in the peninsular region between two mountain ranges, originating in the Central Highlands and running through several Indian States. These rivers usually carry a moderate amount of silt, as compared to Himalayan Rivers. Peninsular rivers are mainly fed by monsoons and the weather systems here are marked by long dry spells and heavy rains.w
