What are the Details About the CAT Exam 2023?
CAT is one of the most reputed exams for top b-schools across the country. Every year CAT exam is held by one of the old IIMs amongst IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Lucknow or IIM Kozhikode. The difficulty level of the question paper depends on the institution that is conducting the CAT exam. On July 30, the notification for CAT exam 2023 was released by IIM Lucknow. CAT Exam 2023 Details
The CAT exam will be held by IIM Lucknow this year on November 26, 2023. This exam will be conducted in three sessions. Based on the scores of the exam the students will get admission to the top management institutions that are IIMs and other b-schools in the country. The fees of the application for CAT exam is Rs 1200 for Sc, ST and PWD candidates. For all other candidates the fees will be Rs 2400. The CAT exam will be held across 155 test cities and students will be given an option to choose any six cities as centers.
Some of the important dates for the CAT exams are as follows:
- Registration opens: August 02, 2023 (10.00 Am)
- Registration Closes: September 13, 2023 (5.00 pm)
- Admit card download: October 25-November 26, 2023
- Test date: November 26, 2023
- Result declaration: second week of January. 2024
CAT Exam 2023 eligibility
In order to be eligible for CAT exam 2023, students need to have at least one of the following:
- A bachelor's degree with at least 50% or 45 % for SC, ST and PWD category. Students in the final year of bachelor’s degree are also eligible for applying.
- Students with professional degrees like CA/CS/ICWA/ fellow of institute of actuaries of India are also eligible to apply if they have the minimum required percentage
- Mere fulfillment of the eligibility criteria is not indicative of the final application status to the IIMs
CAT Exam Score vs Percentile 2022
For a certain score in the CAT exam, the students are allotted a percentile. These percentiles are indicative of the call that they will get from IIMs. Generally, for old IIMs, students need a high percentile like 98-100 if they belong to the general and engineering category. For CAT 2022, the score vs percentile is as follows:
