Describe two possible psychological stressors?
Question: Describe two possible psychological stressors?
Psychological stressors are events or situations that trigger a stress response in our minds and bodies. They can affect our mood, behavior, health, and well-being. There are many types of psychological stressors, but here are two possible examples:
- Work-related stress: This can be caused by factors such as excessive workload, unrealistic deadlines, lack of autonomy, role ambiguity, interpersonal conflicts, harassment, or discrimination. Work-related stress can lead to burnout, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and physical illnesses.
- Traumatic stress: This can be caused by exposure to life-threatening or horrifying events, such as accidents, violence, abuse, natural disasters, or war. Traumatic stress can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), which is characterized by intrusive memories, flashbacks, nightmares, avoidance, hyperarousal, and emotional numbness.
