In this blog post, we will discuss at least two ways in which human beings are contributing towards climate change. These are:

- Burning fossil fuels: Fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, and natural gas, are the main sources of energy for most human activities, such as transportation, electricity generation, and industry. However, when these fuels are burned, they release carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases trap heat from the sun and cause the Earth's temperature to rise. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), human activities have increased the atmospheric concentration of CO2 by about 47% since the pre-industrial era.


- Deforestation: Forests are important ecosystems that provide many benefits for humans and wildlife, such as oxygen production, water regulation, soil conservation, and biodiversity. However, forests are also being destroyed at an alarming rate, mainly due to agriculture, logging, mining, and urbanization. Deforestation not only reduces the amount of trees that can absorb CO2 from the air, but also releases more CO2 when the wood is burned or decomposed. According to the IPCC, deforestation accounts for about 11% of global greenhouse gas emissions.


These are just two examples of how human beings are contributing towards climate change. There are many other factors that also play a role, such as population growth, consumption patterns, waste management, and land use change. The effects of climate change are already visible in many parts of the world, such as melting glaciers, rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and loss of biodiversity. To prevent further damage and to adapt to the changing conditions, we need to take urgent and collective action to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions and to protect our natural resources.
